  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER - KINGSTON

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing quality support in various human resource and administrative functions which includes but not limited to support the selection, recruitment & talent retention, manpower planning, successful onboarding, Efficient Off boarding, benefits & compensation, employee referral program, record management (personnel) as well as payroll activities.

Other duties/responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate all actions covering the entire span of human resources staffing activities (recruitment, onboarding, reassignment, promotion, performance management, career development as well as off boarding), ensuring consistency in the application of the staff rules and human resources policies and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of all HR initiatives

  • Experience in a retail/distribution environment would be an asset

INVENTORY OFFICER –Montego Bay

Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that items are available when they are needed to satisfy the organization's business needs by working alongside the Warehouse & Inventory Teams in planning and monitoring the daily transfers, stock management and the accurate and timely updating of records to reflect efficient stock levels.

He/she will also be required to:
  • Manage the inventory transfers and receival processes
  • Implement systems & processes that will ensure inventory accuracy is maintained
  • Investigate and report all variances and discrepancies within the warehouse.
  • Assist in organizing annual and cycle counts as required
  • Ensure all transfer products are received and the relevant departments are updated accordingly.
  • Ensure company procedures are followed and inventory records properly maintained

Qualifications/Requirements
  • AAT/CAT Level 11 or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in stock controls and inventory practices and processes in a retail industry
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent personal organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a customer oriented working environment
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively in a fast paced environment with little or no supervision

Costing Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Active Home Centre

COSTING OFFICER - KINGSTON

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality support to the Purchasing, Retail, Warehousing and Inventory Departments by preparing and submitting accurate costing of landed goods received from all suppliers in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the receiving process for all purchases according to guidelines, ensuring receival documents are submitted in a timely manner
  • Compile and analyze product-related costs, ensure all costs are accounted for, approved and goods available for sale in a timely manner
  • Review the cost structure of new and existing products
  • Assist in managing the shipping and receiving process for purchases, local and foreign
  • Initiate and coordinate the logistic control processes by communicating with Brokers on all purchases.
  • Analyze product history and make recommendations
  • Assist in researching new products and provide information to facilitate training on all product offerings
  • Carry out inventory adjustment where required

Qualification/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in costing, procurement or related field
  • Sound knowledge of local and international procurement procedures
  • High analytical skills and with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to details
  • Working knowledge of software application system such as Microsoft
  • Knowledge of SAGE300 would be an asset
  • Ability to work on own initiative and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethics, organized, excellent leadership abilities combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, inspects and supervises a wide range of facility maintenance and improvement projects which will include the selection and scheduling of outside contractors if necessary and providing oversight for work being done.
  • Oversee current projects, develop, coordinate and implement new building projects where necessary during and after the expansion phase.
  • Ensure the properties and equipment is maintained in a safe, efficient, cost-effective and in excellent working conditions in order to meet the established business goals.
  • Responsible for overall security risk management in accordance with policies and regulations to mitigate any issues which may potentially affect the operations of the business and its assets including the employees.
  • Oversee both physical and technology-based security projects such as CCTV and onsite security.
  • Serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet management, service, repairs and operations.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Qualification/Experience/Required skills

  • The ideal prospect will possess a minimum of five (5) years' working experience in a similar role at the senior level.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Construction Management, Business Administration or other relevant qualification, from a recognized tertiary institution;
  • Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency and calmly.
  • Flexibility in working extended hours;
  • Knowledge of safety and security best practices, regulations and policies.
  • Experience in lighting, plumbing and mechanical systems and familiarity with the occupational hazards and safety regulations of the electrical trade; carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance would be an asset.
  • Ability to articulate and present intelligent, decisive, and risk-managed security recommendations.
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

E-COMMERCE MANAGER

We are currently seeking a self-motivating candidate to fill the position of E-Commerce Manager. The successful candidate will develop and implement the company’s web-based strategy to promote the brand, attract visitors and potential leads, and generate internet sales.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our E-Commerce website. 

  • Main Responsibilities 
  • Responsible for determining the format and features of the website in order to maximize clarity and ease of navigation for customers
  • Liaise with web designers to alter the website where needed
  • Lead the roll out of e-commerce platform working closely with web designers & internal stakeholders
  • Oversee and manage the ecommerce department hiring, supervising and training where necessary
  • Develop and implement ecommerce strategy in order to improve website performance and e-sales
  • Examine sales-related metrics to inform restock & sales
  • Collaborates with web design company and marketing team to monitor and improve search engine optimization (SEO) results for the company’s website
  • Reviewing of security checkout pages and procedures
  • Manage budget and plan for e-marketing expenditures
  • Ensuring website copy and content is current and up-do date working closely with Marketing team
  • Work with IT Department to evaluate website architecture and navigation to ensure a consistent high-quality customer user experience
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager on strategic development and implementation of the Active’s online and digital presence to provide a consistent and compelling message.
  • Research and development – keeping abreast of new developments in the e-marketing world
  • Manage and build effective relationships with team members and external suppliers

 Degree or Equivalent Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Business Management or Marketing Communications
  • 3- 5 years’ work experience as E-Commerce Manager role or similar position

                         ACCOUNTANT

Under the direct supervision of the Financial Controller, the selected candidate will have responsibility for performing aspects of the Company’s Accounting and Finance functions. The successful Candidate must have a demonstrated successful track record in this capacity and should be able work closely with the Financial Controller and Chief Accountant to develop and implement the financial strategies for the business.

 Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support in managing key functions to sustain business growth and compliance with general regulatory and statutory bodies
  • Assist in the development of accounting systems to ensure compliance and promote the integrity and security of the company’s financial data
  • Assist in the review and approval of  all postings, daily or monthly transaction updates to general and sub-ledger accounts
  • Account for all general ledger journals and ensure accurate posting.
  • Assist in maintaining effective accounts receivables and payables systems to ensure timely receipts and payments
  • Review and prepare reconciliations and fixed assets register
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of the payroll and payroll related data.
  • Prepare and File GCT, Contractors levy and other statutory taxes on time
  • Prepare management reports monthly and as required
  • Oversee cash management operations of the Retail Department
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks and tax authority.
  • Interpret and analyze performance data and confidently make recommendations or decisions where necessary.
  • Keep abreast with changes in statutory laws, accounting principles and procedures and implement accordingly.

 Knowledge/Skills requirements:

  • ACCA Level 11 or Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Finance or equivalent   
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of acceptable financial, accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including accounts payables and receivables, fixed assets, and inventory
  • Competent in the use of general accounting software
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, confident and forward-thinking individual
  • Strong work ethics, organized, excellent leadership abilities combined with excellent written, oral communication
