Store Manager (St. James, Jamaica) - Ping's Fabrics

 The Store Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and management of the store. He/she is responsible for ensuring goals, targets and objectives given for location are either met or surpassed and that excellent customer service is delivered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sell products manufactured and/or distributed by PING’S Distributors Ltd to customers.
  • Work closely with customers and identify their needs, create solutions, ensure a smooth sales process.
  • Generate new sales leads, either through business directories, client referrals, social media.
  • Attend monthly sales meetings to review prior month’s performance and becoming involved in future sales plans and follow strategies outlined.
  • Visit customers and introduce the full line of products within the company’s portfolio.
  • Build and maintain customer and employee relationships.
  • Constantly analyze markets to assess the performance of Ping's products
  • Assist with suggestions for possible new products/formulations
  • Schedule staff to ensure the store is operated efficiently at all times
MAIN DUTIES

Cash Management:
  • Security of cash – Observe all points in the Company’s policy on security of cash
  • Operate and maintain a change float: purchasing change from the bank, issuing change to cashiers, daily checking of cashiers’ float.
  • Daily balancing sales and reconciling cash with Z-Tape.
  • Writing sales receipts on a daily basis.
  • Doing lodgement as often as required.
  • Operate and maintain a petty cash float: for the day-to-day expenses, preparing and submitting vouchers to Accounts department for reimbursement.

Stock Management:
  • Ordering of goods: track movement of goods and ensuring timely replenishing of stock.
  • Checking of bins on shop floor on a daily basis for stock quality
  • Having a keen interest in storeroom to monitor stock levels and ensuring proper storage of goods.
  • Maintaining a warehouse ordering system which efficiently records goods running low or out of stock.
  • Writing and submitting to the Warehouse weekly order list of goods needed.
  • Receiving and checking deliveries of goods from the warehouse and ensuring timely distribution of goods to the shop floor. (Must be on the floor within 24 hours)
  • Visits to Warehouse to keep abreast of stock at least once a month.
Personnel Management:
  • Continuous training and supervising the support staff.
  • Maintain proper staff files
  • Uphold discipline and maintain decorum in the store.
  • Ensure staff perform their duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Make proper documentation of all Disciplinary Procedure.
  • Submit weekly payroll information to Accounts department and preparing salary for staff.
General Managerial Duties:
  • Daily opening and closing of store
  • Ensuring security of customers, staff, goods and cash.
  • Keep abreast with current trends and fashion so as to better able to serve our customers
  • Attend meetings, seminars and training as required.
  • Assist with Stock-taking exercises if required.
  • Analyzing weekly sales and reporting top / poor performers
Other duties
  • Create a schedule and assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the store and facilities.
  • Perform any other duties and/or responsibilities given within the legal framework as Retail Store Manager whether minor, major or incidental tasks related to this portfolio.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of retail management experience, preferably in the fashion industry.
  • Strong passion for fashion and a keen sense of style.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and motivating teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale systems.

Additional Qualities: 
  • Working knowledge of renewable energy
  • Able to understand engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical, etc)
  • Possess a valid general driver's license
  • Three (3) years driving experience
  • Not afraid of heights 
  • Willing to work late hours and weekends
