Job Purpose 

Under the general direction of the Manager, Customer Care, the Customer Care Officer is responsible for assisting the general public in all aspects of their interaction with the Ministry, with the objective of achieving the mandate of the Ministry. The incumbent will also manage customer inquiries complaints and interact with customers to provide and process information.

Job Purpose

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Permanent Secretary, the Senior Director will manage the operations of the Victim Services Division. Child Diversion and Restorative Justice programmes to ensure optimal programme delivery. The Senior Director, Social Justice Services, has overarching responsibility to ensure that the related functions are achieved through the timely, efficient delivery of qaulity services to our clients by effectively managing the human and other resources. Ensures the implementation of proper mechanisms to execute protocols and procedures and provide advice on the formulation of policies, programmes and projects that are aligned with the Ministry's goals.

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Senior Secretary (OPS/SS 3)– in the Project Management, Evaluation & Technical Services Division (Vacant), salary range $ 1,007,823.00 to $ 1,197,984.00 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.


JOB PURPOSE (reason for job existing)
Under the supervision of the Director, the incumbent provides secretarial and administrative
support services to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the Project Management &
Evaluation Branch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare letters, memoranda, reports and documents for supervisor's signature;
• Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine enquiries;
• Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including facsimiles and emails;
• File and retrieve documents, records and reports;
• Prepare requisitions for office supplies and maintain record of the distribution of stationery
and supplies to members of staff within the Unit;

Performance Management Officer (Ministry of Justice) - Kingston, Jamaica

 The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Performance Management Officer (GMG/AM 4) – (Vacant), salary range $1,410,802 - $ 1,677,000 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post. 

 JOB PURPOSE (reason for job existing)

Under the direction of the Director Organizational Development, the incumbent is accountable for the development and implementation of the Ministry’s competency based human resource management system including the competency model for all salary groups and levels. The Performance Management Officer is also responsible for the administration of the performance appraisal process and tools, conduct of training for staff and managers on performance management, monitoring of the performance appraisal cycle aligned with the GOJ performance management (PMAS) process and principles.                                                                                                                                                                   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develops and implements operational policies, plans, guidelines, standards, processes and procedures for the delivery of Ministry human resource performance management programme consistent with the Ministry’s strategic policy objectives and GOJ processes and principles; 

• Provides a comprehensive approach to setting performance commitments, objectives, expected behaviours, assessing results and providing continuous feedback and coaching for all employees and managers ensuring individual work is aligned with ministry and government-wide strategic and operational goals so that strong performance is recognized and unsatisfactory performance can be addressed; 

• Advises management on trends, and recommendations with regard to the performance management processes and tools; 

• Develops detailed process and procedures including tools and guidelines to implement a full human resource performance management administered on an annual basis in compliance with GOJ requirements; 

• Collaborates with the Director Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Directpor Organisational Development, MOJ managers, and HRM Training specialists to develop appropriate tools and processes;

• Administers the annual performance review and appraisal process ensuring staff and managers complete required documentation such as annual performance agreements, mid-year reviews and end of year evaluations; 

• Monitors compliance with MOJ and GOJ directives and standards, assists managers to take corrective measures to be in compliance, and develops systems to capture information; 

• Analyses information and performance documents to provide a corporate profile of skill strengths and development needs to support the development of training and development plans; 

• Provides coaching to managers and staff in the establishment of appropriate performance standards and measures; develops aides and tools, such as handbooks and training workshops to support managers and staff implement performance management; 

• Develops and implements knowledge management strategies and processes to ensure consistent capture of intellectual capital to support effective service delivery and improve development of programmes; 

• Performs other related functions assigned from time to time by the Director.

Job Purpose 

The  incumbent,  under  the  direction  of  the  Human  Resource  &  Administration  Manager establishes  and  maintains  a  professional  relationship  with  the  Customers  of  the  Legal  Aid Council,  ensuring  that  all  their  queries  and  complaints  are  met,  and  acts  as  one  of  the  resource persons for the Council’s mandate. 

Key  Responsibilities     

  • Greets  and  receives walk-in clients;   
  • Answers  and direct  telephone  calls;   
  • Provides  information  to  customers  on legal  and  other  matters  pertaining  to  the  services of the Council;   
  • Interviews  clients  for  Legal  Aid assignments  (Form  C)  and  directs  for  consultation/legal advice; 

  • Completes  and  produces  Application and Assignment  forms  for  the  Executive  Director’s signature;   
  • Follows-up  with Counsel  and  clients regarding  assignments;   
  • Maintains  a computerized Registry  of  incoming correspondence  and  assignment  logs;   
  • Refers  unresolved  customer’ complaints to Human Resource  &  Administration Manager/Executive Director for further investigation;  
  • Assists  with listing  of  payments  for  Attorneys;   
  • Assists  Attorneys  with viewing  of  their  files;   
  • Analyzes documents  submitted  by  Attorneys  to  ensure  completeness  and  correctness;  
  •  Assists  with  making  photo-copyies  of  documents;  
  •  Provides  empanelled  Attorneys  with ethical  guidelines  and other  operational  documents;  
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
