Retail Store Manager (Kingston, Jamaica) - Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ)


 The Retail Store Manager for the Kingston retail store is responsible for all aspects of the Kingston store, as well as the CPJMARKET.COM website function of retail sales. The Manager has the leadership and developmental responsibility for the Kingston retail store, including training, coaching and service measurements. The Manager will ensure all focus is on the customer experience and satisfaction through fulfilment of orders both in-store and online.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain appearance of store as well as the quality and variety of the product offerings of the store.
  • Ensure store is fully stocked and displays are appealing. Ensure products are properly stored and rotated to maintain high merchandising standards.
  • Interact with customers both online and in store and build relationships with them while ensuring their needs are being met.
  • Ensure an in person and online exceptional customer experience.
  • Coach and support team members to help them meet departmental goals. By implementing performance plans and ensuring that development activities are completed.
  • Become an expert in Expedite retail store software and Microsoft Dynamics GP. Ensure that retail customer service is enhanced through the building of customer base in Expedite data base.
  • Become an expert in back end of CPJMARKET.COM website. Work with IT & Pricing Analyst to ensure all products listed are reflecting accurate stock and pricing information.
  • Detect and correct pricing anomalies on both website and in store.
  • Coach and support team in solving difficult problems that affects customer experience.
  • Keep records and documentation of customer interactions.
  • Work with Finance to create monthly and quarterly store sales reports for both store and online sales to determine whether KPIs are being met and where there is room for improvement.
  • Ensure there is adequate coverage for all customer service functions of the store, including maintenance of Customer Base, CRM, Web Order Management, Web Inquiries, Complaint Handling.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to ensure the team is knowledgeable about the current issues/tasks within the department and create harmonious working environment.
  • Be the liaison person within the various departments, as it relates to matters affecting the store customer.
  • Conduct Inventory Audits and develop a cycle count plan, working with Inventory Control to ensure shrink is minimal and inventory is accurately reflected in system. Investigate and explain all discrepancies or variances from audits of inventory.
  • Ensure accurate and timely transfers of inventory to KR from MMDC.
  • Create pricing activities including price changes as required to sell product before expiration date with signage.
  • Execute daily opening and closing procedures per established security guidelines e.g. closing cash pans, and opening and closing entrances and exits. Troubleshoot any issues with daily close out and sales analysis.
  • Make sure delivery service for online orders is effective and timely, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular planning and reviews on store promotions and initiatives with management team.
  • Process time and attendance records for payroll purposes.
  • Conduct performance and disciplinary discussions in the Senior Manager’s absence.
  • Prepare and transmits the daily bookkeeping, invoicing, and requisitions information.
  • Complete daily banking activities in line with CPJ ‘s operational standards
  • Create and distributes rosters to ensure coverage of staff to effectively meet operational demands.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Summary:

The Delivery Assistant's main responsibilities include assisting the driver with loading and unloading the truck, delivering equipment or products to customers and clients, helping drivers navigate to each destination on schedule, and recording delivery logs. He/she reports to the Warehouse Supervisor on the shift assigned.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist in unloading goods on various routes to various customers.
  • Always keep the truck clean and tidy in preparation for other colleagues’ use.
  • Communicate with customers and clients to ensure they’re happy with the service they received.
  • Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Ensure all packages are accounted for and signatures received.
  • Work along with the driver to expedite delivery.
  • Sort and palletize goods to be loaded for delivery.
  • Work closely with supervisor to ensure that production line flows efficiently.
  • Perform all tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all other employees.

GENERAL:

Main Purpose of Job:
The Beverage Technician reports to the Beverage Systems Manager. He/ she is responsible for providing preventative maintenance, service and repair of commercial refrigeration system/equipment, cooking, beverage and other kitchen equipment used in restaurants, hotels, schools etc. The Beverage Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service to our existing clients while developing additional sales opportunities.

Summary:

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring that CPJ’s products consistently meet agreed standards through consistent implementation and monitoring of required parameters, and effective food safety and quality management systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist the QA Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s food safety and quality management systems (FSQMS), inclusive of the Prerequisite Programme and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in the food manufacturing, handling, storage and distribution facilities.
  • Assist in improving and driving corporate food safety culture.
  • Ensure that all food products processed conform to public safety regulations and standards established by local and foreign regulatory bodies e.g. Bureau of Standards, Jamaica, US FDA/ FSMA, United Sates Department of Agriculture (USDA), among others.
  • Inspect and record all pertinent information relevant to the receipt of all raw materials/ingredients.
  • Monitor food production facility temperature and calibrate equipment (e.g., thermometer, pH meter)
  • Ensure that all Meat Plant quality checks are undertaken and documented and, assist in resolving quality issues which may arise.
  • Review all product and product information to ensure accuracy in labeling and packaging.
  • Work closely with the Meat Plant Production team to ensure compliance with product specification and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct sensory analysis on finished products.
  • Collect samples for external and/or internal microbiological analyses, sample retention and shelf-life assessment.
  • Conduct chemical tests (e.g. salinity, pH, fat analysis, residual chlorine) and microbiological testing, as required.
  • Assist in maintaining the microbiology laboratory facilities and equipment in good condition.
  • Support, maintain and conduct sanitation verification checks such as ATP and environmental monitoring programme to ensure acceptable food safety standards of the plant. Identify and investigate areas of concern and communicate information to all levels of staff. Identify continuous improvement measures and work with the Quality Assurance and Production teams towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all non-conformances to CPJ’s FSQMS and the subsequent corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance to all established SOPs, food safety requirements, good manufacturing practices, and sanitation requirements in accordance with CPJ’s FSQMS.
  • Conduct GMP inspections, and where possible, assist with internal audits and supplier audits as per the company’s internal audit schedule.
  • Assist in overseeing the use and replenishment of sanitation supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Actively participate in product research and development.

Summary:
The POS Receptionist reports to directly to the Retail Operations Manager and is responsible for processing the sale of merchandise in the CPJ Retail Store. The incumbent is also responsible for the managing and tracking inventory. He/She must demonstrate experience and skills in providing excellent customer service, within a fast-paced environment.

Duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Collect cash, checks, and credit card payments from customers

Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk reports to the Credit Manager. He /she is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services which contribute to the accurate financial and administrative operations of CPJ.   • Processes daily lodgements for CPJ Kingston Market and Deli.
  • Analyzes and enters daily sales figures and payments into Great Plains Software.
  • Liaises with Inventory Control/ Market personnel regarding issues between RMS and GP.

  • Process and analyse all good returns, debit and credit notes for KR Market.

Brand Associate - Foods (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Caribbean Producers Jamaica

 Summary:

The Brand Associate- FOODS reports directly to the Commercial Manager- FOODS. The following skills and characteristics are required to fulfill this role: dependability, flexibility, strong organizational qualities, and timeliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Executing brand plans which have been approved by suppliers and senior management.
  • Creating and managing market audits based on CPJ categories on a monthly basis.
  • Managing relationships with external customers via programming execution based on brand plans.
  • Ensuring CPJ’s visibility in the retail trade and on premise - gondolas, POS etc.
  • Generating monthly depletions sales reports for vendors and internal analysis.
  • Using findings used to develop promotions and marketing campaigns.
  • POS Management, which involves gathering information and actively managing all POS materials. Tracking usage and movements between CPJ locations. Also responsible for using in promotions and development of new materials.
  • Vendor Communication – Aiding in all vendors visits inclusive of trade visits, presentations, brand development, providing any reports and depletion analysis.
  • Retail outlook and Market Research – Actively assessing different market segments for Foods, both in categories that CPJ brands exist and areas we are looking to penetrate. Providing feedback to management regarding threats and opportunities.

The Chef De Partie reports directly to the Industrial Relations and Welfare Specialist and is responsible for day-to-day culinary operation of the Staff Canteen. Functions include maintaining food safety and quality standards, menu creation, and inventory management.


Duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff.
