Plant Attendant (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Caribbean Producers Jamaica Ltd.


GENERAL:

  • To report for duty promptly daily, wearing the correct uniform.
  • To maintain the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene and personal appearance at all times.
  • To hand in all lost and found items to your immediate supervisor.
  • To be familiar with and abide by all the rules and regulations detailed in the employee’s handbook.
  • To attend any training courses that the company may deem fit.

PRODUCTION/PACKAGING:
  • Ensure plant floor is hosed down and kept clean, and proper sanitation practices adhered to during the production process.
  • Wash tanks and other equipment according to documented procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of ingredients for production. This includes checking water quality, weighing and measuring ingredients, verifying weights and measurements, etc.
  • Make and label boxes.
  • Operate filling equipment (bagging and bottling), pack boxes.
  • Pack pallets and transfer to warehouse.

FORKLIFT:
  • Operate forklift with permission from Plant Manager.
  • Assist in the loading of finished goods for transfer to main warehouse.
  • Assist in the off-loading of containers when necessary.
WAREHOUSING:
  • Ensure that all goods are correctly stacked in their respective places for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure that goods are properly packed on pallets to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure that garbage receptacles are always lined and covered, and the bins emptied as often as necessary.
  • Report to supervisor any damaged or broken equipment or items of stock that you may notice during the course of duty.
MISCELLANOUS:
  • Assist in the weekly deep cleaning of production area and equipment.
  • Assist in stock taking exercise.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

A Plastic Plant Producing packaging products with Blow Moulding and Injection Moulding Machinery requires a Technical Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation of Public Processing Machines. 
  • Make adjustments to machines to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform regular maintenance of machines.
  • Trouble shoot machine issues and make repairs.

Shift/Control Operator - Cogeneration Plant

Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a dynamic, proactive, resourceful, goal-oriented and technically competent individual to fill the post of Shift/Control Operator. The selected individual will work in a team which will have primary responsibility for the operation, maintenance, servicing and repair of the Cogeneration Plant and its related building, machinery, and utility systems, ensuring that all equipment is sustained in normal operating conditions.
Also, the selected individual will be required to maintain accurate records of equipment operation and maintenance, time and materials used for equipment repairs and maintenance and all activities related to the generators and their auxiliaries.

As such, the ideal candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Extensive knowledge in and operational experience with diesel engines, water treatment, pumps, heat exchangers and distillation, boilers, compressors, and industrial generators.
  • Good knowledge and operational experience with gas engine and liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical controls and processors.
  • Functional experience in electrical energy consumption.
  • Working experience in water chemistry control/analysis and/or production of thermal energy and electricity.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Willing to work on contract.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications from the Caribbean Maritime University or any other accredited tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a similar position in a power plant environment.

Quality/Food Safety Monitor (Kingston, Jamaica) - Honey Bun Limited

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for enforcing compliance with the Food Safety and Quality systems at Honey Bun. These include the prerequisite programs, HACCP, and Safe Quality Food (SQF). The core function is to enforce, maintain and improve the quality assurance system through documentation, audits, and closure of gaps from external and internal audits.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality
  • Conduct in process checks and standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Have constant presence during processing to ensure conformity.
  • Monitor product defects and assist in conducting troubleshooting.

Food Safety
  • Conduct internal GMP audits and enforce compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance to Prerequisite programme and HACCP.
  • Conduct environmental swabbing, and testing of raw materials and products.
  • Conduct training of staff
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma in food related science, or similar field or at least three years’ work experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of baking technology
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF or FSSC 22000 desirable
  • Working Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Hygiene and Sanitation Principles
  • Knowledge of principles of Food Microbiology.
  • Possess a valid Food Handlers’ Certificate
  • PCQI certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suit in particular Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • This position requires the Quality/Food Safety Monitor to work (but not exclusive to) late evening, night shifts and weekends.

PRODUCTION WORKER

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker's primary objective is to ensure that all products being manufactured are in coordination with quality control standards and production operations procedures and ensure output at an efficient level with a predetermined delivery time to the Sales team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To ensure the full manufacturing of products in coordination with quality control standards.
  • Workers should be prepared to be rotated based on scheduling over 3 shifts covering a 24-hour period.
  • The employee may be required to push, pull, carry, and/ or lift up to 100 pounds.
Key Competencies:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Able to follow precise instructions.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School Leaving Certificate.
  • Two CXC passes.
  • Baking, Mixing, and Machine Operating skills (would be an asset)
  • Two years’ experience in the food/manufacturing industry.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handlers’ Certificate.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Three shift rotations over a 24-hour period. Saturday and Sunday are mandatory.
  • Work involves physical management (push, pull, carry) and operation of equipment and tools.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud when in the production area.

Financial Controller (Kgn)

Is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the Group. The successful candidate will manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets and financial planning.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • Knowledge and Experience with Quick Books, SAGE50, Peach Tree, or any other reputable ERP accounting software.
  • Experience in General Ledger, Month-end closing, preparation of monthly financial statements, Accounts Receivables/Payables, Product Costing, Inventory Controls, and Budget Forecasting.
  • Minimum five (5) years' or more experience in the supervisory/management of an accounting department.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agro Processing, Food Chemistry or the like.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in Quality/Food Safety management or supervision in a food establishment.
Factory Manager- (Each Location) 
  • Responsible for all production operations and administration of the factory. 
  • Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Lead Management and responsible for the efficient and profitable running of the factory.
  • Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Agro-Processing.
  • Certification in Better Processing and HACCP is a plus.

Factory Administrator (Each Location)
  • Is responsible for the administrative duties of the Factory's office.
  • Including but not limited to Office/factory supplies Inventory, File organisation, HR Administration, Data Entry, Procurement, and Shipment/Delivery.
  • Must have a strong accounting and HR background.
  • The candidate is detailed oriented, organised and must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA or equivalent certification/experience, Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel and Word), ASYCUDA, Quick Books Ideal.
  • Previous experience in office management/ supervision is ideal.
  • Must also live in close proximity (30 mins) to the factory.
Field/Procurement Officer
  • Responsible for the procurement of all raw materials island-wide and also provides technical assistance to farmers to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ideal candidates must have a Bachelor in Agricultural Science.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  •  Have good interpersonal skills to communicate with existing/Future farmers.
Machine Operators (Each Location)
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and Mechanics
  • Experience in operation of Seamers, Cutters, Mixers, Retorts etc.
  • Certification in Better Processing is ideal.
Security/Grounds Men (Each Location)
  • Ideal candidates lives near factory
  • Must have a clean police report
  • Be able to read/write reports, and have experience in handling basic power tools. 
  • Experience as a security guard is ideal.
