Job Summary

We are seeking to recruit LOAN OFFICERS to work in a financial institution, New Era Finance. The position is open in Kingston, Montego Bay, Spanish Town, Sav-la-mar, Linstead and Brown's Town offices. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the seamless onboarding of our customers through our various loan facilities, helping them to achieve their aspirations.

Applicants will be required to perform the following:

Qualifications & Experience Required

Core Responsibilities

  • Generate accurate loans contracts/documents
  • Follow up with loan prospects via telephone, email or other approved methods

  • Achieve individual targets for Collection
  • Handle customer related matters and escalate when necessary
  • Provide recommendation as needed for process improvements
  • Any other duties that may be assigned

Loan Officer (Sales)

Position Title: Loan officer
Reports To: Branch Manager

Job Overview

The Loan Officer is responsible for the organic growth of the branch loan portfolio, through meeting and exceeding assigned monthly loan targets whilst mitigating and controlling delinquency. In doing so, ensures portfolio growth and revenue generation of sales from increased portfolio as well as penetrating the market share. Develops and administers customer and prospect relationships. Responsible for the identification of relevant new business opportunities and designs "go to-market" plan to deliver measurable and significant revenues. Pursues sales opportunities in the market, and carries the baton in the beginning of the sales cycle.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interview prospective loan customers in-branch and “on road” to preapprove loan clients for various loan products.
  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
  • Evaluate and assess borrower’s business history, income sources and credit report as well as the amount of debt he/she carries and payment.
  • Determines if a borrower’s financial ratios, such as debt-to-income ratio, meet the company’s lending standards.
  • For collateral loans, the Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating the condition of the asset and determining that the borrower has or will get good title to the asset and well as the margin to be recovered if such collateral is to be repossessed.
  • Inform borrowers of loans approved or decline as well as to inform customers of additional requirements required for loan assessment
  • Develop creative strategies to retain the clients including interviewing them to take their feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan.
  • Researching the market for identifying new business opportunities
  • Explain prospective clients about the advantages of the products or services offered and follow up with them in order to close the business deals
  • Manage customer calls and appointments effectively for new opportunities
  • Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization
  • Set up with the use of Marketing, desk at different organizations to promote the business as well as to get new leads for loan target growth.
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by branch manager.
Qualifications
  • A first degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in a similar or comparative position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Loan Officers (Kingston & Montego Bay)

 A microfinance company invites suitable qualified applicants for the position of: Loan Officers - Kingston & Montego Bay.

Job Purpose

The Loan Officer will be responsible for soliciting and underwriting loans to include tasks such as risk analysis, and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing loan applications while ensuring submission for approval are of a high analytical standard
  • Conducting financial analysis with sound credit lending practices as well as, accuracy of content and conformance with regulatory requirements of the Microcredit industry
  • Conducting risk assessment in order to assign appropriate risk rating to customers based on information presented and any other pertinent information that is available
  • Analyzing non-performing loan accounts and make appropriate recommendations for restructuring and improved management
  • Verifying audited financial statements and other accounting records in order to obtain information regarding the financial health of clients being serviced
  • Liaise internally with Operations/Business Development and Marketing/Collections personnel, as required, to resolve issues and to facilitate prompt and efficient loan processing for clients

Qualification, Experience and Attributes:
  • A diploma or first degree in Business Administration or Marketing (completed)
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in Sales/Lending
  • Must be target oriented with a drive to succeed in the microfinance industry
  • Build and maintain relationships, generate prospects and convert to sales

    Loan Officer (AIM Financial Corporation) - Kingston, Jamaica

    JOB SUMMARY

    Act as liaison between customers and our institution and help qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
