Mechanical Technician
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide mechanical repair and maintenance services for the company's plant and building machinery and all other related equipment
- Conduct routine checks and service plant equipment
- Analyze equipment failures to determine primary/root cause
- Troubleshoot and correct mechanical faults on all machines and related equipment
- Install new equipment and major parts and components
- Research and recommend the use of new technology and techniques to improve equipment maintenance
- Use technical skills training to assist with on the job training of other employees
Specific Knowledge and Competencies Required:
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance techniques and procedures
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Working knowledge of general machinery and equipment repair techniques
- The ability to work methodically and precisely
- The ability to manage a varied workload
- An awareness of health and safety
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution
- Minimum of two (2) years post qualifications experience as a Mechanical Technical in a manufacturing environment
