Accountant & Auditor Needed (Kingston, Jamaica)



A mid-sized Audit and Accounting firm is seeking to fill two positions as follows:

Senior Accountant

  • Over five (5) years' accounting experience.
  • Client oriented and ability to manage client relationships.
  • Pursuing ACCA Level 2
  • Strong financial statement reporting and analysis skills.
  • Own a reliable motor vehicle and willing to travel across the island.

Senior Auditor
  • Over five (5) years' auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
  • Pursuing ACCA Level 2
  • Client oriented and ability to manage client relationships.
  • Possess knowledge of computerized audit software.
  • Strong analytical, communication, time management and audit planning skills.

Attorney-At-Law Needed (Kingston, Jamaica)

We are seeking to recruit an Attorney-At-Law with experience in land law including conveyancing, family law, estate planning, personal injury, commercial contracts and civil litigation.

Additionally, the candidate must have prior experience in:

  • Providing legal advice and solutions to clients based on the local laws, legal precedents, court procedures and practice direction guidelines;
  • Conducting legal research, gathering evidence and investigating activities for the client's case.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings for trials, arbitration, hearings and mediation;
  • Preparing pleadings, notices and making appearances in court;
  • Drafting, reviewing and managing court documents, contracts, deeds and other legal documents;
  • Negotiating settlements;
  • Managing and overseeing paralegals and legal assistants.

Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Law Degree
  • Certificate in Legal Education
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position within the Records and Information Management (RIM) Unit:

Records Clerk

Core Function:

  • Converts OUR's documents and records from paper to digital images.
  • Maintains listings of active, semi-active and inactive records.
  • Assists with the removal of documents and records across OUR's storage facilities, as required.
  • Organizes records in boxes and on shelves at OUR's storage locations.
  • Assists with the dispositioning of records or non-record materials.
  • Updates database with documents, records and information of the OUR.
  • Assists with the OUR's mail management process within  established time frames.
  • Assists with the maintenance of documents and records that are in the custody of the RIM Unit.
  • Assists with maintaining an efficient and effective inactive off-site storage facility.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Critical Competencies:
  • Five (5) CXCs/CSECs including English and Mathematics
  • One (1) year experience in a similar position.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality 
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • High level of initiative
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel
  • Good degree of commitment to teamwork and cooperation
  • Certification in Records Management would be an asset.
