CVC is seeking to recruit an individual for the position of Micro-Grants Technical Officer.

The Officers expected to coordinate the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various micro-grants provided through the global fund.

Associate Clinical Psychologist (Kingston, Jamaica) - Jamaica Defence Force

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites suitably qualified persons to enlist in the JDF as a Professional Entry Officer (PEO) to fill the following position: 

Associate Clinical Psychologist

Support Brigade, Jamaica Defence Force

Candidates must meet the following requirements and competencies.

Nationality: Be a citizen of the Commonwealth

Professional and Educational Requirements:

  • Master of Clinical Psychology degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' post training experience in the field.
  • Registered with the Council for Professions Supplement to Medicine.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
  • Ability to assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
  • Interviewing and psychological evaluation skills.
  • Ability to conduct clinical psychological diagnostic testing and interpret findings.
  • Ability to provide Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to conduct clinical case conferences.
  • Ability to produce clinical reports.
  • Ability establishes and maintains clinical records confidentially and in accordance with established regulations and practices.
  • Ability to conduct seminars and developmental engagements.
  • Ability to conduct clinical research.
Critical and Analytical Thinking Skills
  • Strong ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work cohesively within a diverse community.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
Attitude 
  • Must demonstrate the aptitude and desire to assimilate into military life.
Military Standards
  • In addition to the academic qualifications and competencies, candidates must be able to pass the assessment requirements for enlistment in the JDF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Overseeing and maintaining the mental health and wellness of our service members and their dependents (spouse and children) while providing psychological intervention.
  • Conduct psychological assessments of clients.
  • Diagnose psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Formulate, implement and evaluate a range of psychological therapeutic treatment plans specific to the needs of clients.
  • Monitor client progress and review treatment plan as necessary.
  • Make referrals as necessary.

Systems Technician

Job Summary

The System Technician is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the in-house and cloud-based ICT infrastructure and services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all hardware, software, and communication links. The incumbent will also analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required.

He/she is required to ensure that the data in the IT Service Desk is up to date and provide responses to users in a timely manner in keeping with the IT Service Standard. An important focus of the role is to fulfil the Department's desktop Support obligation through a combination of remote support and hands-on assistance to end-users.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or related subjects from a recognized institution.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v4) Foundation Certificate.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the administration and maintenance of Information Communication Technology Infrastructure platforms. 
This must include one (1) year experience supporting any of the following:
  • Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows Server and Azure Active Directory.
  • Cisco Network, PBX, Firewall and Security Services
  • VMWare/Veeam Infrastructure
  • McAcfee End Point Security Software.
Key Technical/Occupational Competencies
  • Working technical knowledge of ICT networks and Server and PC operating systems, including Windows and linux.
  • Extensive application supports experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including CICSO Firewall and Switches, VMWare Hypervisor, McAfee End Point protection and Milestone CCTV Platforms.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Key Non-technical Competencies
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good initiative and self-motivation
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
