Inventory Officer

Job Purpose

Responsibility for the issuing of all items in the custody of the stories in accordance with Company policy and procedure. Give oversight for the work of the assigned Inventory Coordinator on given shifts.

Job Requirements and Specifications

  • Associate Degree in Management Studies, Logistics and Inventory Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Two (2) years' working experience in materials management and warehousing with one (1) year at a Senior level.
  • Working knowledge of the handling and storage of engineering materials, electronic equipment and dangerous goods;
  • Familiarity with equipment standards, various types of engineering spare parts and their application;
  • Ability to operate industrial forklift and hand trucks to transport inventory as required.
  • Project Management.

Electrical Engineer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited

Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) invites qualified, dynamic, energetic and result-oriented individuals to join our team in the following positions:

Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsibility to develop, implement and monitor the preventive maintenance and repair programs for the company's electrical, metering and protection systems. This includes 69kv substation, 13.8kv substation (transformer yards), electrical projects, buildings, generators, light pylons, associated distribution and transmission cables, switch gears, relays, horn pits and reefers. Key responsibilities include preparing bid documents, tender evaluation reports, bill of quantities, drawings for all projects.

Job Requirements and Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PMP or other Project Management certification
  • Minimum five (5) years' working experience in an industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of techniques and methods employed in the maintenance of medium voltage/high voltage switch gear equipment, transformers, standby generator plants, feeder management relays etc.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant electrical/electronic engineering systems which include electrical circuits, PLC, control relays and fault diagnostic systems and HV power transmission.
  • Sound knowledge of Jamaica Electrical Standard, Jamaica Public Service supply and distribution system, Jamaica Public Service substation layout and operational procedures
  • Ability to prepare and interpret technical Drawing/sketches.

Delivery Truck Driver, Production Worker (Kingston, Jamaica)

A Kingston-based company is seeking to fill the following roles:

Delivery Truck Driver

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License (Open General and above)
  • Must have adequate driving experience as a delivery driver from previous delivery companies (minimum of three to five (3-5) years' driving experience)
  • Must reside in Kingston or St. Catherine and willing to travel island-wide
  • Able to operate standard and automatic trucks as well as buses
  • Must have a clean police record with no outstanding tickets
  • Drivers must be able to read, write legibly, count accurately and can compute basic Mathematical problems
  • Older drivers (applicants over the age of forty five (45) years old) are also welcome to apply.

Production Worker
  • Perform duties within a production factory which includes baking, cooking, grounding, machine operation and packaging.
  • Must have a Food Handler's Permit and at least CXC passes in both Mathematics (or a numeric subject) and English or a HEART Trust/NTA certification in food production or related fields.

Accounts Manager (Kingston, Jamaica) - Jamaica Defence Force

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites suitably qualified persons to enlist in the JDF as a Professional Entry Officer, to fill the following position:

Accounts Manager

Caribbean Military Academy

Candidates must meet the following requirements and competencies

Nationality: Be a citizen of the Commonwealth

Minimum Professional and Educational Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or Certified Accountant (ACCA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Master Degree in Accounting or Equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in accounting of which three (3) years' should be at the supervisory level.
  • Experience working with large budgets.
  • Experience working in Finance or Accounting in a higher education institution would be a distinct asset.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations; including the Generally accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
  • Excellent knowledge of budget preparations.
  • Good knowledge of audit preparations.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyse large amounts of data.
  • Capacity to analyse complex financial situations and develop effective solutions;
  • Ability to understand and effectively navigate the unique financial and operational aspects of a military environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, accounting software and databases.

Military Standards
  • In addition to the academic qualifications and competencies, candidates must be able to pass the assessment requirements for enlistment in the JDF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for Schools, Units and Sub-Units of the Caribbean Military Academy (CMA).
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Office.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Manage the accounts of all Schools at the CMA.
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to JDF policies and regulations.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances through coordination with Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force (HQ JDF).
  • Coordinate with external funders to complete assigned accounting tasks, such as course costings and course tuitions.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to the JDF's internal policies.
