Key Focus: Responsible for leading the implementation development and sustainability of the PriceSmart Food Safety Program in our Jamaica operation. In general, over 50% of the Food Safety Manager’s time will be spent teaching, coaching and auditing our fresh departments to ensure 100% compliance.

Principal Responsibilities

• Support the development, deployment and continuous improvement and assessment of GMP´s and HACCP program and its Pre-requisites in all in-country PriceSmart food facilities. (DDC and food manufacturing facilities)
• Monitor and support all Food Safety program activities (microbiological, pest control, pre-operational check list, etc.).
• Ensure Club compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable Food Safety regulations as adherence to corporate and local standards of food safety is nonnegotiable.
• Create and conduct a full training program (e-learning and personal sessions) to all levels that includes HACCP and corporate procedures.
• Stay abreast of and communicate significant government regulations critical to the proper operation.
• Ensures adherence to corporate standards of sanitation of production areas such as meat room, bakery, food service and rotisserie.
• Conduct Food Safety Audits/inspections with third party inspections when required.


Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineer or related technical field.
• Minimum 3-5 years in the food and/or beverage industry or technical association in food safety and quality management systems.
• Expertise in GMP’s /HACCP and other food safety programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in auditing and training a diverse work group 100%.
• Desirable - basic Spanish.
• Knowledge and understanding of systems and applications knowledge (Microsoft Sharepoint, MS Office, etc.).

  • Perform complete oversight of all relevant inventories throughout the entire department. (CRU, Market and Deli).
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution. 
  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in a management position in a fast-paced Food and Beverage, customer-focused, high traffic environment.
  • Experience in menu planning and pricing required. 
  • International experience in a similar entertainment organization would be an asset.
  • Advanced computing knowledge especially Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as the needs of the service dictates, including out of normal hours as required

The National Housing Trust seeks to identify a Senior Financial Analyst for its Treasury Management Department.

Senior Financial Analyst (GRADE 8)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, Treasury Management Department, the Senor Financial Analyst oversees the daily management of the Trust’s investment portfolio.

The incumbent is required to review investment strategies, research financial markets, analyze investment opportunities and financial statements and recommend investments or changes in investments to manage financial risks and generate an acceptable rate of return.  He/she is required to measure and evaluate return on investments and trends that may impact the investment portfolio.

MAIN DUTIES:           

Duties specific to the position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • developing and monitoring of the Unit’s Operational Plan and Budget, Risk and Procurement Plans
  • assisting in the development and implementation of operational systems, policies and procedures to guide the daily investment activities
  • managing the Trust’s investment portfolio and databases, systems and securities inventory
  • identifying investment risks and implementing control mechanisms to mitigate against risks
  • managing NHT’s Expected Credit Loss model for corporate credit exposures
  • conducting market research and gathering market intelligence to enhance the management of the Trust’s investment portfolio
  • providing analytical support for recommendations on investment policy, asset allocation, security repurchases and funding strategy
  • developing and monitoring employees’ work plans and conducting performance appraisal, and
  • preparing and submitting periodic analysis reports and representing the Unit and Department at meetings, conferences and other fora, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounts, Finance, Management Studies, CFA, ACCA Level III, CPA or an equivalent accredited qualification from a registered and accredited tertiary institution.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity of which three (3) years must be in investment portfolio management.

The successful candidate must have the following skills/competencies at above average levels:

  • Problem solving and decision-making
  • Communication (oral and written)
  • Listening and negotiating
  • Interpersonal and time management
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications relevant to the job

Knowledge of:
NHT’s policies, procedures, standards and regulations governing investments
financial reporting and analysis, investment valuation techniques, portfolio management, trading in various investments financial institution and market requirements, investment regulatory agencies’ policies, procedures, practices and standards international accounting financial principles, standards, best practices, as well as the laws and regulations governing investments, and
statistics and financial analytical tools- proficient knowledge in the principles and techniques of analyzing data, finding statics relationships, casual factors and trends.
