Job Overview:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in coordinating the activities of the kitchen to ensure efficiency and the highest quality standards for the satisfaction of the customers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate Time, Temperature and CTR sheets to all kitchen staff.
- Aid in the preparation of meals by demonstration, and by monitoring the preparation of meals, observing color and texture; and taste testing to ensure thatall meals meet airline specifications.
- Ensure good hygienic practices in the preparation and storage of meals.
- Ensure that workstations and all equipment used are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained
- Assist in cost control
- Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation for presentations and recipe engineering.
- Supervise, guide, train, motivate and discipline kitchen staff.
- Adhere to all quality, safety and security standards and procedures.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
