Job Purpose:

Responsibility to develop, implement and monitor the preventive maintenance and repair programs for the company's electrical, metering and protection systems. This includes 60kv substation, 13.8 kv substation (transformer yards), electrical projects, buildings, generators, light pylons, associated distribution and transmission cables switch gears, relays, horn pits and reefers.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing bids documents, tender evaluation reports, bill of quantities, drawings for all projects

Job Requirements and Specifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PMP or other Project Management certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience in an industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of techniques and methods employed in the maintenance of medium voltage/high voltage switch gear equipment, transformers, standby generator plants, feeder management relays, etc
  • Sound knowledge of relevant electrical/electronic engineering systems which include electrical circuits, PLC, control relays and fault diagnostic systems and HV power transmission
  • Sound knowledge of Jamaica Electrical Standard, Jamaica Public Service supply and distribution system, Jamaica Public Service's substation layout and operational procedures
