LASCO Manufacturing Limited, a leading food manufacturing company seeks to recruit a dynamic individual for the position of HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER. Reporting directly to the Human Resource Manager, the ideal candidate will execute the following duties:

• Lead the Recruitment and Selection process for employees up to the Assistant Manager level
• Assist the HR Manager with administering and monitoring the Performance Management process
• Provide support, guidance and effective training and development activities for the company
• Support the company's safety efforts by liaising with Quality & Security Managers via the HR Manager to ensure compliance with relevant laws/codes
• Direct and oversee all personnel related processes in the areas of: on-boarding, separations, promotions, appointments, records management, and payroll advisory
• Manage, update and ensure compliance of the core HR policies and labour legislations, in tandem with the HR Manager
• Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of all Reward & Recognition, Team Building programmes for the company

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and knowledge:

• Knowledge of Office Administration
• Computer skills including Word processing programs, emails, spreadsheet and Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of first degree in Human Resource Management or and other relevant degree from a recognized tertiary institution
• Working knowledge of the Jamaican Labour Laws, sound HR practices and policies and a good appreciation of business practices
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar position in a Human Resource Department
• Experience in the manufacturing and/or distribution environment is an asset

Qualify Assurance Officer

Lasco Manufacturing Limited, a leading food manufacturing company seeks to recruit a dynamic individual for the position of Qualify Assurance Officer. Reporting directly to the Qualify Assurance Manager, the ideal candidate will the following duties:

• Achieve quality assurance operational objective by contributing information and analyse production as it regards output, quality, and customer-service standards.
• Identify and resolve problems, completing audits, determining system improvement and recommending change.
• Conduct hazard analysis, identifying critical control points and preventative measures, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures and monitoring inventories.
• Validate quality processes through established product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence; thereby adding to quality assurance procedures.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.

Payroll Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - LASCO Manufacturing

A leading food manufacturing company seeks to recruit a dynamic individual for the position of Payroll Officer.

Reporting directly to the Management Accountant the responsibilities/duties of the incumbent include but are not limited to:

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of the company's payables
• Compliance with the company's policies and statutory regulations 
• Prepare and submit payroll monthly and annual returns
• Advise senior management on the impact of new legislation on payroll procedures whenever necessary
• Analyse data and generating reports related to payroll when required
• Reconcile the General Ledger payroll clearing account and statutory accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist with month-end Management Accounts reporting
• Prepare data and documents for internal and external audits
• Comply with all administrative policies, procedures and performance standards to ensure the effective and efficient management of Payroll practices, procedures, reporting needs and records keeping

Education and Experience:

• B.Sc. degree in Accounting or Management Studies 
• Two (2) years experience in payroll processing or equivalent
• Good understanding of Labour Laws and of the statutory regulations which apply to payroll

Skills:

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Well developed computer skills
