Chief Accountant (Kingston, Jamaica) - Palace Amusement

The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of financial policies and procedures, and to ensure proper financial control and reporting.

Applicants must have:

• Three (3) years experience in a similar position
• ACCA level II or its equivalent
• Competency in Microsoft Office
• Two (2) years experience in calculating payroll manually
• Sound knowledge of Accounts Receivables and payables, GCT and other statutory requirements
• Experience in QuickBooks desktop
• Supervisory experience

We expect candidates to possess good leadership traits, and more than an average ability in oral and written communication. Speed and accuracy are essential, as are technical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.

The position of chief accountant is best suited to someone who is self-motivated and likes to use his/her initiative, whilst understanding the requirement to consult for guidance. Some audit experience will put the applicant at a distinct advantage.
