Secretary/Typist (OPS/SS1)
Qualifications required:
- Secretarial Diploma from a recognized institution
- Five (5) CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English A
- Ability to operate office equipment
Assistant Bursar
Job Specifications/Core Functions
- To assist with the financial and accounting affairs of the institution in a prudent manner in keeping with Government's fiscal provisions
- To provide accurate and timely financial information for the Bursar
- To assist with administering the financial resources of the institution in accordance with Government regulations and the provisions of the Financial Administration and Auditing Act
Minimum Requirements:
a). Specific Knowledge Required:
- Knowledge of FAA Act/Regulations/Instructions and Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedures
- Knowledge of generally acceptable Accounting practice
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and selected accounting software
- Knowledge of electronic banking techniques
b). Qualifications and Experiences:
- Associate degree in Business Studies/Accounting from a recognized institution or equivalent
Or
- Successful completion of the AAT - Technician Stage / ACCA level one (1) and one (1) year experience in Government Accounting or other relevant experience
- Training in Government Procurement Guidelines would be an asset
