Our client, a large Insurance Broker, is looking for an astute, commercially-minded Financial Accountant to join the management team.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the focus is to ensure effective financial and operational policies and internal controls, as also the accuracy and integrity of accounting and management information to IFRS standards. Key accountabilities are to:

• Provide financial statements and decision support information to the executive and the Board, that deliver value across the business.
• Ensure liquidity adequacy and reporting accuracy, and provide necessary performance ratios.
• Prepare the Annual Budget and develop economic/industry performance standards against which company's performance can be measured.
• Focus on continuous improvement of accounting processes to ensure their effectiveness.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory compliance standards and reporting are maintained.

Preferred Profile

• ACCA/CPA or equivalent qualification; sound business acumen; at least five (5) years' in a similar capacity, that demonstrate sound technical accounting knowledge and financial analysis experience, preferably in the service industry.
• Previous audit experience would be an asset.
• Sound treasury management and performance analysis experience.
• Strong organizational skills; highly responsive to issues; able to successfully manage multiple deliverables with a proven record of target achievement.
• Technology savvy; comfortable with interactive data visualization tools such as Power Bl; able to think and plan strategically yet with a pragmatic approach.
• The leadership and people develop capabilities to develop a small accounting team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, successful in building alliances, who interacts credibly and comfortably at all levels, with the self confidence to gain the confidence to gain the confidence of the Board.
