Assistant Bursar (EIGS/BR 1)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Core Functions:

• To assist with the financial and accounting affairs of the institution in a prudent manner in keeping with government's fiscal provisions
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to be used by the Bursar
• Assist with administering thw financial resources of the institution in accordance with government's regulations and the provisions of the Financial Administration and Auditing Act

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Specific Knowledge Required:

• Knowledge of FAA Act and Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and accounting software
• Knowledge of electronic banking techniques

Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate degree in Business Studies/Accounting from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications

OR

• Successful completion of AAT - Technician Stage/ACCA level 1 and one (1) year experience government accounting or other relevant experience
• Training in government procurement guidelines would br an asset
