SPECIALTY RESTAURANT CHEFS
The successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant by optimizing the use of materials and workforce, thereby maximizing revenue and exceeding guest expectations within Sandals/Beaches.
They will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef with directing cooks in the kitchen, dealing with food-related concerns and providing leadership within a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service.
Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position include:
- Maintaining food quality and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- The ability to execute all production and plating in a timely, efficient manner.
- Establishing culinary standards specific to restaurant requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of modern and innovative culinary trends.
- Expertise in all the activities of a kitchen and the different styles of cooking and food preparation.
- Maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- The ability to train and maintain training programs.
Qualification and Experience:
- Graduate of internationally-recognized culinary institution of equivalent, technical training/schooling.
- Five years as an apprentice, an assistant cook (Commis), department head (Chef de Partie) in an international hotel/resort.
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience as a Restaurant Chef specializing in one or more of the following cuisines: Italian, Indian, English, Japanese, Teppanyaki, Chinese, Thai, and French.
- Knowledge of volume production and ability to maintain the highest quality standards.
- International experience would be a distinct advantage.
