Applications are invited from suitable candidates to fill the position of: SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the Power, Instrument & Electrical Systems Department at our Ewarton Works location in St. Catherine.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Design, plan, research, evaluate and test electrical and electronic equipment and systems
- Provide electrical engineering services to implement solutions to persistent equipment failures and to conduct electrical improvement replacement programmes
- Implement and monitor electrical preventative maintenance systems, thereby maintaining engineering standards
- Plan and coordinate for power outage, ensuring the availability of all electrical equipment and systems
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least eight (8) years experience in the electrical maintenance of a plant or power house (diagnosing and resolving malfunctions in electrical systems)
- Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems, PLC Programming and troubleshooting training
- Project management and cost estimating skills
The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups within the organisation, as well as with contractors. The position also requires that the incumbent be on call 24-hours a day.
