Accountant
Job Summary
The Accountant will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. The candidate will also report the organization's finances to management and offer suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Review and handle receivable transactions.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Maintain SOP for routine transactions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
- Accounting Designation such ACCA, CPA or other recognized designation.
- Three (3) years' working experience in a similar capacity.
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel and Accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Previous experience of managing direct reports.
