System Administrator (Kingston, Jamaica) - St. Joseph's Teachers' College

 St. Joseph's Teachers' College is seeking to fill the position of:

Systems Administrator (MIS/IT 3) 

Skills & Qualifications:

• Maintain the network of cables, switches, UPS's, computers, wireless routers, moderns and server
• Ensure that all software installed is suitable, suitably licensed and operational for the college
• Ensure and maintain data backup
• Ensure IT Help Desk services for all system users
• Manage the computer room in relation to sign-in and log-off procedures, user assistance and physical equipment protection
• Administer the email service - create individual user accounts and group accounts, re-set passwords as necessary
• Orient new students on the policies of the colleges and the computer room and ensure compliance
• Assist and educate all wireless users
• Perform regular security monitoring of the network to identify any possible intrusions
• Secure the server room environment and associated equipment 
• Guide website creation, development and maintenance

Special Skills/Competencies:

• Expertise in the support and administration of Windows servers and Client O/S with specific emphasis on Active Directory and Group Policies
• A keen knowledge of supporting a multi-domain environment
• A strong and sound knowledge of supporting a multi-domain environment
• A strong and sound knowledge of deploying wireless connectivity to mobile devices
• Good presentation and communication skills, both written  and verbal
• Willingness to work beyond normal operating hours
• Team-oriented and self-motivated

Minimum Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry certification
• At least two (2) years experience in a similar position

Salary per annum $2,190,302.00 per annum - Pay Band 5.
