The Iona High School Board of Management invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following position:
Assistant Bursar (EIGS/BR1)
Core Functions:
- To assist with the financial and accounting affairs of the institution in a prudent manner in keeping with the Government's fiscal provisions.
- To provide accurate and timely financial information for the Bursar.
- To assist with administering the financial resources of the institution in accordance with Government regulations and the provisions of the Financial Administration and Auditing Act.
Minimum Requirements:
Specific knowledge required:
- Knowledge of FAA Act/regulation/instruction and Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedure.
- Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Practice.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office operations and selected accounting software.
- Knowledge of electronic banking techniques.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Associate Degree in Business Studies/ Accounting from a recognized institution or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the AAT - Technician Stage/ACCA Level 1 and one (1) year experience in Government Accounting or other relevant experience.
- Training in Government Procurement Guidelines would be an asset.
Requirements:
- Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree and proven experience.
- Applicants should be able to employ best practices in accounting and finance.

- Strong moral values and discipline.
