The Iona High School Board of Management invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following position:

Assistant Bursar (EIGS/BR1)

Core Functions:

To assist with the financial and accounting affairs of the institution in a prudent manner in keeping with the Government's fiscal provisions.
To provide accurate and timely financial information for the Bursar.
To assist with administering the financial resources of the institution in accordance with Government regulations and the provisions of the Financial Administration and Auditing Act.

Minimum Requirements:

Specific knowledge required:

Knowledge of FAA Act/regulation/instruction and Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedure.
Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Practice.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office operations and selected accounting software.
Knowledge of electronic banking techniques.

Qualifications and Experiences:

Associate Degree in Business Studies/ Accounting from a recognized institution or equivalent.
Successful completion of the AAT - Technician Stage/ACCA Level 1 and one (1) year experience in Government Accounting or other relevant experience.
Training in Government Procurement Guidelines would be an asset.
