Here's an exciting opportunity to join the STAR team as an entertainment reporter.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years'of professional writing experience.
- Skilled multimedia journalist with strong presentation and writing skills and an ability to convey information in a clean, clear and concise manner.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Sound knowledge of entertainment journalism.
- Personable, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Candidates Should:
- Be self-motivated and a go getter.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including working on weekends.
- Be organized, with a strong attention to details.
- Have social media experience and proven skills using social media as a news-gathering tool.
- Be able to work quickly and independently.
- Have a vibrant and professional demeanour.
- Be able to write and deliver entertainment stories with the reader's perspective in mind.
- Be able to make efficient decisions, have solid judgement and superior research skills.
- Have the ability to work independently or as a team where required.
Main Responsibilities
The reporter is required to produce, within deadlines, accurate, error-free stories and features for publication on print and online platforms.
