Safety and Environment Team Lead

Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a meticulous, flexible and team oriented individual to join its Safety and Environment Department.

The Ideal candidate should possess:

• B.Sc. degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management/Science or Engineering discipline.
• Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or Environmental Management.
•  Sound knowledge of occupational safety, health administration and environmental management practices in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of the local environmental and safety legislation and regulations including the Factories Act, NRCA Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and any other regulations relevant to occupational safety, environmental management and industrial hygiene.
• Membership or certification by a recognized safety professional association (such as American Society of Safety Professionals-ASSP, Board of Certified Safety Professional - BCSP, Jamaica Occupational Health Safety Professional Ass. - JOHSPA etc.).
• Experience in conducting hazard analysis and incident investigation and documentation of safety and environmental management procedures.
• Knowledge of management systems including but not limited to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Training in wastewater treatment systems, visual emissions monitoring, industrial fire prevention and fighting techniques.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Project Management and the ability to prepare reports and graphs.
• Good presentation skills with the ability to plan and prepare materials for the execution of training to a wide cross section of employees.
• Excellent communication (oral and Written), time management, human and industrial relations skills.
• Four (4) years' working experience in occupational safety and two (2) years at the Supervisory level.
• A valid driver's license and reliable motor vehicle.
