Forklift Operator (Spanish Town, Jamaica) - Wisynco Group

We are hiring a forklift operator. 

The Forklift Operator drives forklifts to shift and stack containers, crates of goods in areas. To offload containers on directive.to pick assigned orders and stage for final check off and delivery. To ensure that products meet the required specifications. It also includes ensuring that the efforts support the Company's overall strategy and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the forklift is in good operating condition 
• Ensure that work area and immediate environment is clean and orderly
• Lift, stack, and unstack articles and materials using a forklift 
• Offload containers on the directive of warehouse supervisor
• Ensure goods are stored in the correct areas so they may be located easily when necessary
• Load transport vehicles, making sure loads are evenly and securely placed
• Reads work order or follows instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Complete logs in an accurate and timely manner
• To keep all areas of responsibility safe, clean and organized at all times and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Pick assigned orders with 100% accuracy
• Ensure zero accidents/ damages occur from poor handling, poor stacking and or staging of items

Job Specification/Competencies (Minimum):

• Minimum of three (3) CSEC passes including English A and Mathematics or Principles of Accounts with one (1) year working experience in a production environment 
• Possess a valid driver's license and forklift operating license/certificate
• Certification from a technical institute with two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
• Excellent hand-eye coordination with high proficiency in operating technical machinery
• Good communication skills - written and verbal
• Good planning, organization and team-working skills
• Meticulous, with the ability to function well in a demanding work environment
