Power Plant Operator (St. Catherine, Jamaica) - Wisynco Group

The Power Generation Operator has responsibility for facilitating the provision of Electrical Power and other energy requirements to the WISYNCO White Marl and Lakes Pen facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Generating Plant in keeping with manufacturer’s recommendation
• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all equipment associated with the plant at the scheduled times
• Operate and maintain standby generators
• Ensure that the Photovoltaic Generation system is operational at all times
• Execute Preventive Maintenance on Photovoltaic Power Generating system at the scheduled times
• Keep accurate logs of all required operating data
• Submit reports at required intervals as directed
• Ensure that Safety policies are adhered to all times
• Support the Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and the Environmental Management Systems standards respectively particularly in the area of Electrical Safety
• Any other duties as may be assigned within the scope of the job

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or three (3) years’ experience in a related position
• Extensive troubleshooting experience
• Effective communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports with the ability to articulate technical information with great clarity
• Trained in the use of MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel)
• Meticulous, with the ability to function well individually and on a team within a demanding work environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization and time management skills
