Plant Attendant (Temporary/Casual Work) 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Plant Attendant, the Plant Attendant operates various mechanized production equipment and tools, in the jelly coconut extraction process, while adhering to quality and safety standards.

The Plant Attendant is responsible for:

• Offloading jelly coconuts, seednuts and related by-products from delivery vehicles
• Chopping jelly coconuts and/or operating coconut cutter equipment to express coconut water and jelly meat'
• Maintaining the quality and upkeep of jelly production equipment and machinery and keeping the work area sanitized

Required Education, Knowledge and Experience:

• Completion of Grade 9 or NVQJ Level 1 I Plant Operations or other related field
• One (1) year experience on a production line or related function
• Ability to read and write competently
• Knowledge of the uses of equipment commonly found in a food production plant
• Knowledge of food sanitation principles
• Basic knowledge of work Health and Safety principles
